About myself

I'm Noam Dan Almosnino—feel free to call me Dan or Noam. I'm a generalist with two decades of experience in design, front-end code, and UX writing. I've worked at companies big and small—even my own.

These days, I'm the design lead on the Automattic for Agencies team. We help agencies build and grow their WordPress and WooCommerce businesses. I've taken the product from zero to launch—to over 6,000 agencies signed up in the first six months. I design every day. I also manage a contract designer and guide the design direction of the platform.

What can I bring to 37signals?

I believe good interaction design stands on the foundation of good writing. Writing is design. I'm happiest in the loop: designing, building, refining. I care about craft. About clarity. About the moment something just works—and looks right.

I'd love to bring my range to 37signals. To help build products that are simple, sharp, and opinionated. To push ideas forward. To question the status quo in UI and product design.

It's one of the rare places where a designer can write, design, and code without being in a pressure-cooker startup. A space built for flow, not meetings. That kind of environment is rare—and exactly what I'm looking for.

Why I'm a designer

I'm a designer because I care about how things feel. Aesthetics matter—so does function. I admire clever solutions, elegant details, and utility that doesn't get in the way. I'm not a decorator. Not a prototyper. I prefer to ship.

I get restless in workshops filled with Post-it notes. But put me in a breadboarding session—even on Zoom—and I light up. It's grounded. Practical. We're making something real, together.

Why I love working on the web

The web is where I started. HTML, CSS, JavaScript. I always return to those three. It's where I find flow. The tools have matured, the possibilities have expanded, but the best part hasn't changed—you don't need permission to publish. You just make.
